NORSEWInD is a ground-breaking EU project to provide a dependable offshore wind atlas of the North, Irish and Baltic Seas.

It is the product of four years of work under the coordination of Oldbaum Services and carried out by a consortium of 21partners throughout Europe with a budget of €7.9 million Euros. The project has been funded under the EC FP7 programme, receiving a contribution of €3.9million Euros.

The Data

The data for this project was collected via multiple mediums  and used cutting edge methods that combine modelling met mast data, satellite data and LiDAR data.  Numerical modelling using mesoscale codes were used during this project.
